For the organization and management of the German Mouse Clinic (GMC) with the capacity of systemic phenotyping of more than 3000 mice per year and with respect to more than 550 parameters we have established a particular management unit – the Core facility. The GMC management team of the Core facility coordinates the different operating levels in the GMC, including animal management, logistics for the import of mice, primary phenotyping workflow, quality control, communication with collaborating partners, and organization of infrastructure and communication platforms for the GMC members. Therefore, the GMC Core facility guarantees the efficient successive analysis of mouse models of NGFN IGs in the GMC screens, represents the interface for NGFN IGs and GMC scientists, supports all GMC screens in administrative issues and ensures regular quality measurements. Moreover, the Core Facility coordinates the implementation of the new tests and technologies in the primary workflow, the expansion of the secondary and tertiary test portfolio, and the integration of new statistical tools for the analysis of data. We will introduce a new information system specifically for NGFN-Plus members for reporting new genotype-phenotype interactions to increase the added value for NGFN-Plus.
