Integrated DNA-Methylation analysis

The project concerns the development of new concepts and assays for the analysis of epigenomes of tumors and the identification of new diagnostic epigenetic markers. The results will be shared with the clinical partners within NGFN2-Plus to sustain the analysis of complex diseases. On the experimental side we will develop and apply a Bisulphite sequencing pipeline (Bi-PROF) for the analysis of target regions as well as the development of high resolution bisulphite Sequencing protocols (Bi-SEQ) on a GS20 plattform. As bioinformatic work packages we will generate a database and evalution tools for bisulphite sequencing data as well as for the prediction and prioritisation of DNA-Methylation target regions. The integrated epigenome analyses pipeline will furthermore perform comparative evolutionary conservation analyses (both epigenetic and genetic) and perform prediction and bioinformatic validation for epigenetic tumormarkers identified in the consortium.
