The central management office is of crucial importance for the network. Consequently, the subproject is related to all other subprojects. Relevant information needs to be distributed to appropriate groups rapidly. Regular meetings twice a year were scheduled to evaluate novel findings, evaluate progress and plan future projects. The manager acts as personal assistant to the coordinator; major activities include preparation of reports, newsletters, and organization of meetings/workshops (e.g. international Meeting: „From Causes of Obesity to Clinical Applications“, Oct 8th -9th, 2011 in Essen. The manager routinely contacts network partners and other networks to promote scientific exchange; the manager also takes minutes at meetings including those of the steering committee. Hence, information flow and executes administrative tasks (financial and reporting) is overseen. Reports of the meetings will be provided to the network.
The manager ensures transparency about projects as well as continuous communication. For this purpose, the manager will work closely together with the KTT (Koordinierungsstelle Technologietransfer). The manager oversees relevant results and publications of the network and provides information material appropriate for the general lay public. The manager acts in close collaboration with the NGFN Management Office. The manager will also help to identify and follow up possible utilizations of research results of the network partners.
