The objective of the subproject “Elucidation of cross-talk between signalling networks in acquired drug resistance” is to elucidate interactions between different signaling pathways relevant for cell cycle progression in breast cancer, and to identify the key proteins which allow a bypass of breast cancer cells to prolifertate after drug treatment. Hence, we will compare networks composed of modules for Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (RTK) signaling, Estrogen Recepor (ER) relevant signal tranduction, transcriptional regulation and cell cycle progression between cell lines, which are sensitive or resistant to different breast cancer drugs. Finally, we aim to use our results to design strategies of combinatorial breast cancer therapies, thus minimizing the possibilities for aquired drug resistance.
